Welcome to MDcovid, a partner in the COVID-19 Genetic Host Initiative, a world-wide genetic initiative to fight COVID-19.  

“The COVID-19 host genetics initiative brings together the human genetics community to generate, share, and analyze data to learn the genetic determinants of COVID-19 susceptibility, severity, and outcomes. Such discoveries could help to generate hypotheses for drug repurposing, identify individuals at unusually high or low risk, and contribute to global knowledge of the biology of SARS-CoV-2 infection and disease”.

MDcovid’s mission is led by Paulo Andre MD, the CEO of MDinteractive, a disease registry whose mission is to help clinicians monitor and improve the quality of their patient care by transforming their data into information to enhance decision-making. Prior to forming MDinteractive, Dr. Andre conducted genetic mutations research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, MA. He had his neurology residency at Tufts Medical Center, after which he cared for patients with neurological conditions in the Boston area for many years.

• If you have had COVID and have already had your DNA analyzed by 23andMe or Ancestry.com or another DNA analysis company, please answer our survey and share your summary results with our researchers.  
• If you have had COVID but have not yet had your DNA analyzed and are willing to, please answer our survey and we will mail you a DNA test; it’s an easy process that you can do from home, at MDcovid’s expense.  
• If you have not had COVID, please share our mission with your friends and family.
